Water penetration testers are straightforward tests for measuring the degree of water penetration into common materials such as concrete, stone, and plaster, which are used widely in general construction. The most popular testing method is the Karsten tube penetration test, which consists of a glass tube filled with water, bonded to the test material with plastiline. Water pressure is then exerted on the surface, and a graduated scale indicates, over time, the amount of water that has penetrated into the surface.
