Popis: GenLysates™ are total protein tissue and cell lysates that are extracted from the tissue or cell of interest. To inhibit proteolysis, the GenLysates™ are prepared in a lysis buffer containing a complete protease inhibitor cocktail. Each lysate lot is tested by electrophoresis and Western blot analysis.

Popis: Paraneoplastic neurological disorders (PNDs) are rare syndromes that are caused by, or associated with, an underlying neoplasm. The most common neoplasm among young male patients is testicular cancer, but the leading cause among other patients is lung cancer. Most PNDs are caused by an immune response against onconeural antigens, causing progressive neurological damage. The paraneoplastic antigen MA family contains three known members: MA1, MA2 and MA3. MA1, also designated neuron- and testis-specific protein 1, is a nucleolar protein in normal cells but localizes to the cytoplasm of tumour cells. MA2, also designated onconeuronal antigen MA2, is a nucleolar protein expressed in brain and testis. MA3 is highly expressed in brain and testis and is expressed at low levels in heart, trachea and kidney.

Popis: Germ cell nuclear factor (GCNF) is an orphan member of the nuclear receptor gene superfamily that influences neurogenesis and germ cell development. GCNF can homodimerize and bind DNA. GCNF regulates paracrine interaction between the oocyte and somatic cells by regulating the expression of BMP-15 and GDF-9, to affect female fertility. GCNF is present in spermatocytes and round spermatids of adult male mouse testis; northern blot and ribonuclease protection assays have shown GCNF is predominant in the testis. The gene expresses three alternatively spliced transcript variants.

Popis: MAGEF1 is a member of the MAGE (melanoma antigen gene) superfamily. Most known members of the MAGE superfamily are expressed in tumors, testis and fetal tissues, which has been described as a cancer/testis or "CT" expression pattern. MAGEF1, however, is expressed in all adult and fetal tissues tested, as well as in many tumor types including ovarian, breast, cervical, melanoma and leukemia. The coding region of MAGE-F1 is contained within a single exon and includes a microsatellite repeat. Several MAGE genes are ubiquitously expressed suggesting a role for MAGE encoded proteins in normal cell physiology.

Popis: Members of the BAGE gene family encode antigens that are recognized by cytotoxic T lymphocytes and are also known as CT (cancer/testis) antigens. Generated by juxtacentromeric shuffling of the MLL3 gene, the ancestral BAGE gene was expanded by acrocentric exchanges and/or juxtacentromeric movements. BAGE, also known as B melanoma antigen 1 or cancer/testis antigen 2.1, is a 43 amino acid member of the BAGE family. Generally, BAGE proteins are not expressed in normal tissues, except in testis, but are expressed highly in melanomas, bladder carcinomas, head and neck squamous cell carcinomas, and lung and breast cancer carcinomas. BAGE proteins are not expressed in renal, colorectal and prostatic carcinomas, leukemias and lymphomas.

Popis: Transcriptional regulator. Critical factor essential for ovary differentiation and maintenance, and repression of the genetic program for somatic testis determination. Prevents trans-differentiation of ovary to testis throught transcriptional repression of the Sertoli cell-promoting gene SOX9 (By similarity). Has apoptotic activity in ovarian cells. Suppresses ESR1-mediated transcription of PTGS2/COX2 stimulated by tamoxifen (By similarity). Is a regulator of CYP19 expression (By similarity). Participates in SMAD3-dependent transcription of FST via the intronic SMAD-binding element (By similarity). Is a transcriptional repressor of STAR. Activates SIRT1 transcription under cellular stress conditions. Activates transcription of OSR2.
