With the temperature resistance needed to heat solvents, the specialized apparatuses allow vapours to travel up the arm where a thimble blocks solid material from escaping. Designed to have cooling vapor enter the solid contained chamber, percolators circulate the now warm solvent liquid to dissolve desired compounds.
